‘Children in Need' in Tendring, (as assessed under the Children Act 1989) is the highest in Essex . This is reinforced by the high numbers of referrals made to Social Care Services and highlights the difficulty the district has in supporting children in need and the clear role for early intervention and prevention in Tendring.
